Trend Spotting: The Bomber Jacket

Bomber Jackets are everywhere. Dublin is in serious bomber mode, they have taken over our city; and I love it.

From athleisure looks ft. crop tops, leggings and superstars (you can thank Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner for making comfort this years biggest trend) to high-end street style ft. culottes, heels, and accessories-for-days you can't deny the power of the bomber to finish your look off in the most stylish way.

Here are one or two of my faves at the moment, there's one for every budget here so don't be shy and get shopping:

1. Henry Holland, £295/ €370-ish. A print is a key street style trend and Henry Holland knows how to rock them.

2. COS, €99. Not quite a bomber but close enough, this is the minimalists dream.

3. Topshop, €84. Pink, satin, affordable - simply cannot go wrong.

4. River Island, €60. This limited edition, lace-y number brings the bomber trend to a more feminine level that we haven't seen too much of but it works like a charm.

Hope you like, let me know how you rock a bomber on FB, Insta, or Twitter.

IFTA '16: Best Dressed + Musings On The Irish Film Industry

If there's one thing that makes me proud to be Irish it's our vast history of excelling in the arts. Cinema is no exception. Especially in the past couple of years the Irish Film and Television industry has grown copious amounts; isn't it refreshing that Fair City isn't all we have to call our own anymore?! Hollywood wont know what's hit it with the quality and talent the Irish industry is producing! I am dying to go and see 'My Name Is Emily' starring Evanna Lynch as soon as possible, but for now, I'll have to settle for seeing Miss Lynch rock a killer dress on the IFTA red carpet instead.

Here are my Best Dressed Irish Stars from the IFTA '16 red carpet:

OK! I know what you're thinking "Floral, in Spring time, groundbreaking" but alas Amy Huberman can do no wrong, as she proves once again in this beautiful Umit Kutluk number.

Comedian Deirdre O'Kane blew me away in this light blue gown. Opening the show, she was dressed to impress for sure.

Best Actress Nominee, Evanna Lynch looked a far cry from Luna Lovegood in this beautiful burgundy stunner. Everything about this look is on point and I have a feeling that we can expect big things from Evanna in the next few years.

Here's one for the boys. Ferdia Walsh of Sing Street (which I saw and loved) rocked the IFTA carpet in a burgundy suit. He kept it fun and youthful in a more casual shirt and shoes. The 16 year old seems to be Ireland's answer to Harry Styles when it comes to his dress sense.

It wouldn't be a blog post about Ireland's film industry without mention of our favourite, home-grown action hero; so here's a photo of Liam Neeson receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award to say goodbye.

Juices By Ginger: Three Day Detox

It was a while ago now but I wanted to share my experience of the Juices By Ginger 3 Day Detox here on my blog. I am not super in to fad diets, I honestly think that nutrition is all about balance but I was feeling ridiculously bloated before I did this and it just kind of sorted that out for me.

Starting Weight 78kg

The Process: 4 juices per day, 2 green, one fruity and sweet, and one red and vegy.

Day 1: My first juice was a delicious and sweet green juice. It was a great start to the process and I knew it wouldn't be too bad if they were all that tasty. I wasn't hungry at all this first day but would have loved something warm and wholesome like a soup (they have a 'soup and juice' detox too which may be better for variety sake).

Day 2: I felt a little groggy when I first got up, almost as though I had a cold but I understand that this is a part of changing your diet so suddenly. Once I got out in the fresh air I was fine. I think it's very important especially in day 2 to drink loads of water to keep this groggy feeling at bay. I wont lie, I was seriously in the mood for some food this day but it's about perseverance at this stage. I don't think I was hungry, I just kind of wanted the taste of some food.

Day 3: I felt really motivated on day three. I was almost finished the detox and was feeling a whole lot better already. My bloating was gone, my skin felt fresh, I had more energy. Although, I was so ready to eat a good meal.

Finishing weight 75kg

When I weighed myself on morning four after completing the detox, I had lost 3kg which converts to 6.6139lbs. I was happy with this result as it was minimal effort and 3 days was a very quick turn around for this weight loss.

I think that the cleanse was great for just getting my tummy feeling normal again after the Christmas holidays and getting rid of any bloating or sluggishness. I thought that I would be dying for a big juicy burger or something equally as greasy after three days of juicing but honestly I was happy with soups and salads. My body knew what it needed and that was not a plate of chips.

I am a big fruit and veg eater in everyday life. I love my greens so this was just a "get un-bloated after Christmas" thing for me more than a total diet makeover, because I don't think I eat to badly generally. I really enjoyed the taste of the juices although a friend of mine who did the detox along with me was not a fan at all so it all depends on your taste buds I'm afraid!

For anyone who wants to take part in a Juices By Ginger cleanse just pop over to the website and check out all of the different options. Let me know how you get on with your detox by getting in touch on FB, Twitter, or Insta
