RI X Zoë Jordan

Last night in River Island, Grafton Street, Zoë Jordan's collection for River Island was launched. There was a Q&A with Zoë and we got to hear about her inspirations for the collection as we shopped it.

I think my favourite thing about Zoë Jordan was her idea of the kind of girl who wears her clothes. A girl with a "quiet confidence" and "strength". The clothes themselves are all very unique in their pattern and texture but extremely wearable in shape and cut. I tried on the cargo style pants and may have made a sneaky purchase as they are super comfy yet dressy enough to look like I tried - win, win situation.

In short, the collection is beautiful. Zoë gave a lot of her Studio collection to this too - all of these pieces would slot in with her studio collection perfectly on a London Fashion Week runway - so it's a great way to mix a little high-end designer in to your wardrobe.

I haven't shown the full collection in this post so make sure pop in to the Grafton Street store in Dublin to get hooked on RI X Zoë Jordan.

For now I will leave you with a few pictures from the event last night.

Matchy Matchy in Monochrome

I headed to The Corona's concert in Galway this weekend {it was awesome, they never disappoint} and this is what I wore. This look is perfect for being on the go, comfy, classic, and cool.

You can really never go wrong in monochrome for any occasion and... people tend to think you know what your doing with fashion if you wear monochrome, ever noticed that?!

On my lips I am wearing my absolute fave, 'Russian Red' from MAC, I think it's been discontinued but they have loads more reds to choose from and there are plenty of more affordable brands like 'Wet N' Wild' that make fab red lippys so don't be afraid to shop around. Red lipstick really compliments our pale Irish skin so I do think it's something every girl from the Emerald Isle should have in her arsenal.

As for the outfit, most of these pieces I actually picked up ages ago in River Island so they are no longer available. However it is super easy to pick up black culottes and a sleeveless blazer on the high-street these days because everyone is making them. Check out some similar pieces online: Alternative blazer - ASOS. Alternative Culottes - Missguided. Alternative Top - Topshop. Alternative Bag - BooHoo. My shoes are just Adidas Superstar runners and you can shop them here

Packing Badly & Last Minute Shopping

I went to Munich for a couple of days with my family but honestly I packed really badly. First thing my sister and I had to do was hit H&M so I could pick up some bits and bobs to help my wardrobe along.

I had only brought heels or flip flops - no normal shoes, so a pair of little red plimsolls were a must for me. Along with my River Island blazer they look super cute. I love this whole look because it is pretty and preppy. This RI blazer is excellent for it's versatility - I wear it for work and for play it's awesome. A good pair of leggings are amazing for running around sight seeing too.

Shop the look:

Blazer - River Island. T-shirt - H&M. Leggings - River Island. Shoes - H&M. Necklace - a gift from Marbella. Wallet/Clutch - MK, Michael Kors.
