It's been a little while since I've posted, I know I said I wouldn't take any more impromptu breaks but I have been MEGA busy at work. For anyone who doesn't know, I currently work for River Island and I love my job. Retail at Christmas time can be pretty hectic though, especially in a big high-street store so everything else had to go on the back-burner for a little while there.
The one excellent perk of all of those extra hours at work around Christmas time is the payday. Now I have bills and rent and all that jazz to pay but considering I haven't really treated myself with a pay cheque since I started my job a few months ago I thought that this was the month to do it. I stocked up on a few make-up bits that I have been running out of and got myself a pair of trainers that I have been eyeing up for ages now.
In the make-up stakes I picked up a few old faves: Nars 'Sheer Glow' foundation in 'Siberia'. Nars 'Radient Creamy Concealer' in 'Chantilly'. Benefit 'They're Real' Mascara. Rimmel London 'Stay Matte' powder in '001 Transparent'. I also picked up Rimmel London 'Brow This Way' in '004 Clear' because I've wanted to try it for ages but just never have. I will be sure to do a review once I've been using it for a while. A lot of these bits would be massively luxury products for me, I can't always afford to pick them up again once they've run out but when I can I like to treat myself. I am super excited that I have them back now.
The shoes that I've got are a pair of New Balance trainers from Office. I have been pining over them for ages and they were the first thing I thought of when I was deciding how best to invest my wages. I had been looking for some plain black trainers for a while that I could pop on with some rolled up skinny's for running around the city and working etc. but when I tried on the plain black they just weren't anything special. I think that the little pop of colour on these ones makes them. I am one smitten kitten with these at the moment so look out for them in upcoming outfit posts.
Happy New Year to all of you. I can't wait to keep up the blogging and get back in my stride this year. Let me know in the comments what you think of the bits I've picked up.
